Personally, I think that anything (note that I said anything and not anyone) is better than the retarded shrubbery living in the White House. I think it was best stated by Michael Moore in the title of Chapter 9 of Dude, Where's my Country: Clearing the Bushes, and Other Spring Cleaning Chores. While I am supporting Kerry, I would prefer to see someone a lot less like Bush. The line between Democrat and Republican is becoming blurred. Because of this, I have offically joined the Green Party (the more liberal, the better, in my opinion). I'm evem proud to say that I am border-line Socialist. I could write volumes about why I don't want Bush to lead America. If he's relected, I am changing my citizenship. I'd rather live in Singapore (where it's illegal to chew gum in public) than under the neo-Monarchial dictatorship of "Dubya". I would like to close my rantings today with an interesting fact and two quotes: Interesting Fact: America is NOT a democracy, it is a republic. For America to be a true democracy, we would have to abolish the electorate system (and replace it with the popular vote) and the Congress. I support the abolishment of the electorate, but I think it would be stupid to abolish the Congress (unless, of course, the Republicans held the majority). (in reference to the American Revolution) "Our struggle today is not against a Monarch named George, who inheirited the crown from his father, though it often seems that way." -Sen. Ted Kennedy, at the Democratic National Convention (in reference to Bush's attacks on Kerry's service in Viêt Nam): "It takes real courage to desert your post and then attack a wounded vet." -Film Maker and Genius Michael Moore
I'll rant more later, but now, I think I have developed a minor case of Carpol Tunnel.#nosmileys

When I put "other" as an option in the poll, I didn't mean something like THAT.

Any chance of this thread being serious just went out the window.

You're not that desperate are you???
Bono for President !!!! - funny quote from him the other day - he said he wouldn't run for President as it would mean having to move into a smaller house.
Welcome back Golyadkin, I've been here all the time, though my life has totally turned upside down in the interval - for the better.
I too have read Dude, Where's my Country - Mike Moore is a genius!!!
Not knowing as much as you two about the American political process (though I did study American politics years ago at school) - I do think it is a travesty of Democrary with only two parties who are becoming more and more similar, so that the Amercan public have little choice. Why cannot a nation of several hundred million people set up a third party dedicated to real change and democratic principles?
Great to see you back kid.

Bono?
I feel Oprah would be better suited (and so does Moore). But I meant someone who could actually win the election.
Oh, and the U.S. doesn't have only 2 parties. There are 5 total (that I know of): Democrat republican (intentionally left lower-case) Green Independent I can't remember the name of the 5th one (possibly the Socialist Party).
I personally am a member of the Green Party. Basically a more liberal version of the Democrats.

I didn't mean that there was only two parties, only that at present only two parties are big and strong enough to actually win the election at the moment.
Michael Moore's idea of Oprah is a good one, but like Bono, she couldn't afford the wage cut probably!!!

It is annoying that there are only 2 real parties. i tend to change my political views often. i'm think that there should be a confederate party.

What do you mean requirements for statehood? Of course the U.S. is a state, though whether it is a true democracy is debatable. All democracies are at the minute flawed. The British Democracy I live under is almost an elected dictatorship - I never got the cheance to vote for Tony Blair, or even for his party as I live in Northern Ireland. Only a party can remove a Prime Minister I think, so it's only if the Prime Minister calls an election that the leader be changed and turkeys don't vote for Christmas!!! Please urge all your parents and realtives to get rid of Bush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, looks like you failed to topple the tyrant, or rather Kerry failed to show any balls - what a dull guy he is - if he had a bit more guts he could have made himself the saviour of the world instead of another has-been politician.

PLEASE URGE EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO GET RID OF BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU DON'T, KISS GOODBYE TO THE WORLD, PEACE AND HARMONY. My sentiments exactly. Too bad we lost. The Democrats were, as Jon Stewart (host of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Comedy Central) put it: "throughly paddled". We lost more of the House, more of the Senate, the Presidency again, and to top it all off, Tom Daschle, the Minority Leader (I forget if he was from the House or the Senate) was voted out of office. I personally spent the day after the election huddling in a dark corner, weeping. Does anyone know who I need to contact to get a change of citizenship? I'm thinking Australia or England would be nice, seeing as I already speak English and can do an English and an Aussie accent very well.
